From the Principal's Desk

School years in the life of every child are special. It is where they learn not only the basics of knowledge but also the lessons of discipline and moral values that enable them to follow the path of righteousness and establish themselves with a firm footing in society. Since its inception in 1882 by Ms. Henrietta J. Neele, Christ Church Girls' High School (H.S) has been a model school for aspiring little girls—"The Christinas"— instilling in them the much needed confidence and zeal to prove their mettle in the modern world scenario.

I feel privileged to be the leader of such a heritage institution which has successfully completed nearly One and Half Centuries of its existence and contributed enormously to the cause of women's education and liberation. It is our goal to make each and every student succeed not only academically but also in other spheres of life. From the moment a student becomes a "Christina", we want her to feel a sense of happiness and belonging —vital for her future success in life. Our wonderful natural ambience, splendid infrastructural facilities and excellent teaching faculty, gives to each student a congenial environment that is intimate, friendly and attuned to every specific educational need. We are extremely happy that even amidst the din and bustle of a city life, our students are fortunate enough to grow up in the lap of nature, with sprawling playing fields and beautiful gardens encompassing the entire school campus.

We follow the curriculum set by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and also the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education for the Class X and Class XII Board Examinations respectively. Our students have been excelling in their academics every year, thereby glorifying the name and fame of their Alma Mater. As we believe in an overall development of the young minds, we also offer a number of co-curricular activities along with the academics in order to give our students the suitable platform to show case their innate talents. Over the years, our incessant endeavour has borne fruit and left an indelible mark on the lives of many great women figures in our society. We, as educators watch with great pride and glory, how the little pupae of the Pre-Primary and Primary Sections metamorphose into beautiful vibrant butterflies in the Secondary and Higher Secondary sections. Our happiest moments are when our little Christinas win accolades for themselves in the Board Examinations and emerge with flying colours in their lives. As the lead Gardener of this beautiful Garden of Eden, I heartily welcome many more aspiring youngsters to become Christinas— "The followers of God"— in this abode named after our Lord Himself and contribute towards the betterment and upliftment of our Nation in the years to come.
